There are some problems with lorries missing their turnings, or deciding they won’t fit under the railway bridge (resulting in complicated three-point turns and severe congestion).

Over-height detector just west of Ferry Hinksey Road junction, advising right turns for vehicles >4.15m high (since the industrial estate is the best place for them to turn). Also detector set at lower height to give reassurance for vehicles <4.15m
