Ferry Hinksey Road
This was traffic-calmed a few years ago, but the humps were installed with too-large gaps in the middle, so they don’t work properly. This needs to be corrected so that 20mph would be self-enforcing.
- Move the humps by the planter closer together (maximum 1.2m gap in middle and 1.5m at the sides), to stop cars driving in the middle of the road. Possibly make a parking bay for a couple of cars, north of the planter (where the car is parked in the photo of the unused crossing).
- Move the traffic island to the same place as the humps by the school, to stop cars driving in the middle of the road (and to provide an informal crossing with good visibility)
- Install 20mph limit between Botley Road and the pedestrian crossing by the school
