Make it easier to walk along Botley Road (Inner)
This part of Botley Road is heavily used by pedestrians. The junction mouths are notably risky to cross, the state of the pavement is poor, and the pavement is unnecessarily narrow in places.
- Resurface pavement between Becket St and Mill St (it is in very bad condition either side of the subway)
- Tighten the pavement radii at Mill Street, to slow turning traffic, improve visibility and reduce the crossing distance (and eliminate a cycle accident blackspot)
- Tighten the pavement radii outside the Youth Hostel (Roger Dudman Way), to slow turning traffic, improve visibility and reduce the crossing distance
- Build out the pavement at the Abbey Road junction, to slow turning traffic and reduce the crossing distance
- Widen the pavement at the narrow point between Mill St and the river. The road is slightly wider at that point, and shouldn’t be (narrow the road to the same as on the bridge). This also reduces the kink in the cycle lane approaching the bridge.
